Wavelength connects people in solidarity and friendship through
a simple but powerful gesture, the wave. The act of waving is a highly effective superpower, originating as a signal to strangers that we come in peace.

It magically creates a moment of intimacy at a distance, even between strangers. It’s a beautiful way to acknowledge one another and is something most of us can participate in or enjoy.

Wavelength - Packington was created to bring together the new and old residents of the recently re-built Packington, a social housing estate in London. Using adrone, I filmed over one hundred


The Process


Residents, neighbours and passers-by came to sit on bean bags and eat popcorn, handed out by local kids, while enjoying the waves. Others watched from their balconies and windows.

The Screening
The film was projected onto two 12ft square screens placed on the community square overlooked by hundreds of flats. The screens were positioned opposite each other creating the sense that they were waving at each other, a cellist played live music along the silent film.
